XCOR
Aerospace announced today that the Small Business Administration
(SBA) has granted HUBZone certification to the company.
The HUBZone
Empowerment Contracting program provides federal contracting
opportunities for small businesses.
“Mojave
Airport is one of the earliest examples of a military base converted
to private use,” said XCOR President Jeff Greason. “Despite the
isolation of the region, quality jobs are being created in eastern
Kern County. HUBZone status will provide us with added opportunities
when we seek government contracts.”
The
HUBZone program provides federal contracting assistance for
qualified small businesses
located in historically underutilized business zones (HUBZones). The
law was created in an effort to increase employment opportunities,
private investment, and economic development in areas, long
neglected as potential business sites.
XCOR
Aerospace is a California corporation located in Mojave, California.
The company is in the business of developing and producing safe,
reliable and reusable rocket engines and rocket powered vehicles.
